It isn't the end of the world if this breaks. It just means the IR sensor won't work at night, and if you purchased a black button from Ebay then it won't work anyway as none of them let the IR sensor pass through the plastic.

I've been evaluating Ring vs Nest in advance of a renovation I will be doing to my house in Spring '24., and whilst I really like Ring, it seems there are features that are missing - and worse half the time they are in the US and not in the UK. Good question, @Cablepro54! A reset can be performed by holding the setup button for 20 seconds. Once complete, you will likely need to perform a new setup or reconnection in the Ring app. Alternatively, a power cycle can also help at times.
